WHITE CHEESE

The White Cheese Pittas made from sheep’s and goat’s milk, also known as Fetta cheese, is being produced for ages in Pittas Dairy Industries. Due to the fact that this cheese is produced exclusively from sheep’s and goat’s milk, and taking into consideration the hundreds of endogenous plants present in Cyprus’ nature, the milk receives all the aromas and flavours of the plants that are later on transferred to the cheese.

Pittas Dairies’ traditional method of producing this cheese consists of a unique and caring process that gives to the cheese its standard, unique and sharp flavour. After it is salted it is left in its brine for a month at low temperatures. It is then placed in the fridge for maturation for another month and after that it is ready for consumption.

Pittas white cheese can be consumed with olive oil and oregano, cooked in an earthenware dish in the oven with tomatoes, black olives and onion, as well as in salads, cheese pies, feta pies and spinach pies.
